    What Does This Program Offer?
       
    The Program has three (3) parts:

  • Benefits/Claims






    Counseling, Claim Generation, and Free Assistance




    Assistance in applying for Black Lung benefits and Noise Induced Hearing Loss Claims




    Assistance in checking claims, billing and understanding medical benefits




    Referrals for legal assistance




    Beneficiary (Widow) Assistance

  • Medical






    Black Lung evaluation (for medical treatment and to use for filing claims)




    Treatment for breathing problems and referral for specialized care




    Testing such as breathing tests, physical exams, and chest x-rays




    Optional testing available as needed for additional evidence such as blood gases

  • Education






    Information on how to take care of lung disease




    Prevention education for at risk workers

  • The usual symptoms are shortness of breath, coughing up mucus, and wheezing

  • Black Lung can lead to serious lung infections



  •  


  • WV Worker’s Compensation Fund pays benefits for evidence of occupational lung disease

  • WV Worker’s Compensation Fund pays benefits for evidence of Noise Induced Hearing Loss as a result of your occupation
