On behalf of the Preston Memorial Hospital Foundation, Thank you for taking the time to look at who the Foundation is. The Preston Memorial Hospital Foundation was created in 1994, as a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to raise, receive, and accept funds for facility improvements,equipment, technology, and expansion of services at Preston Memorial Hospital.
Preston Memorial Hospital is a state licensed, nonprofit, 25-bed critical access, acute care facility located in Kingwood, W.V. Preston Memorial is a nonprofit and the sole-community hospital in Preston County. Our hospital has been providing excellent rural healthcare to our community for more than half a century. Annually, we have 55,000 outpatient visits and 1,000 inpatient admissions.
Our hospital provides a full spectrum of services including 24 hour a day, seven days a week Emergency Department, Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging services. Specialty outpatient services through its physician clinics are also offered, they include an employed Neurologist along with visiting specialists in Cardiology, Orthopedics, Urology, ENT, Podiatry, and others. We also offer a sleep clinic.
The rising costs of equipment, upgrades and general healthcare costs make it difficult for rural hospitals, like Preston Memorial, to acquire new technologies. Access to these technologies plays a crucial role in the hospital’s ability to provide the best healthcare possible.

- Provide a coordinated program of fund development and continue philanthropic support for the Hospital.
- Assist the Hospital in obtaining grants from other foundations.
- Promote community awareness of and support for the Hospital.
- Assist the Hospital in identifying community expectations and needs for health care services in the Hospital’s service area.
VALUE STATEMENT
