Weight Watchers® Open to the Public at Preston Memorial Hospital
Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, WV has held true to their word to open their wellness program to the community. In a community outreach effort PMH has opened its doors to let the public join their Weight Watchers program which has now switched from Weight Watchers at Work® to a Community Program. “We are very pleased to be able to offer such a wonderful program to the surrounding communities in Preston County” stated Angie Johnson, Human Resource Generalist, Weight Watchers Leader and Wellness Committee Member.
Preston Memorial Hospital employees have just completed their very first 12 week program. Together we have lost over 400 pounds! That is more than three 135 pound people we have lost in weight! “We are truly proud of our employees and concerned about their health and the health of our community. It was our goal to make this a success and offer it to as many people as we possibly could. I believe we are on the right track”. Johnson said.
“The Weight Watchers program will be held within the walls of Preston Memorial Hospital for as long as we have members. It is a wonderful program and it works!” stated Johnson. The employee/community price is $136.00 which can be paid in two payments of $68.00. Weight Watchers has a scholarship program to help defray the cost of membership for lower income members who would otherwise be unable to afford the program, the potential member will fill out the application with Weight Watchers to see if they qualify.
Participants can join within the first two weeks of every 12 week cycle, the next class starting will have sign ups on Tuesday, September 16th sign up times will be 11:00 – 1:00 pm and 5:00 – 7:00 pm. The regular classes are held every Wednesday at 12:00 noon and 6:30 pm at Preston Memorial Hospital.
We welcome everyone to join us at Preston Memorial Hospital. Johnson states, “I also want encourage other employers in Preston County to start at Weight Watchers at Work program, it works wonders”!
