 | | Preston Memorial Hospital became a smoke free campus on July 1, 2009. There will be no smoking on any property owned by Preston Memorial Hospital, or anywhere visible from hospital entrances, exits, or windows (including the parking lots). The no smoking policy will include employees, visitors, patients, and clinicians. Preston Memorial Hospital wants to role-model healthy behaviors to our customers, community, and children. Please join us to combat the major tobacco epidemic affecting our community.
Reasons to quit smoking:
- Sweeter breath: your teeth will be whiter your breath fresher and you will be less likely to develop gum disease, and tooth decay or loss.
- Nicer nails: Make those stained fingers and nails a mere bad memory.
- Sharper sense of taste: You’ll really be able to taste your favorite foods again.
- Fresher scents: When you quit smoking everything smells better.
- More time: Who doesn’t need more time?
- Fatter Wallet: The average smoker can save $1,600 per year by quitting smoking.
How women and babies benefit:
Women who quit smoking reduce the risk of cervical cancer, osteoporosis, menstrual irregularities and early menopause.
Thinking of having a baby? Consider this:
Quitting smoking reduces your risk of infertility, promotes a healthy pregnancy, with a lower risk of miscarriage, premature delivery, infant death and low birth weight. Children of non-smokers have a lower risk of asthma, allergies, ear infections, colds, respiratory infections, and SIDS.
