Volunteer Services
Volunteers have provided key services to Preston Memorial Hospital since its inception.
Many are drawn to volunteerism by their desire to be helpful, humane, busy, and in the case of our student volunteers, to gain high school or college required community service hours, while gaining an exposure to the medical field(s) which they wish to enter.
We encourage volunteers of all ages. We currently have volunteers from age 15 to 97.
Volunteers could be involved with many tasks, including, but not limited to:
- Greeting visitors
- Patient pre-registration
- Reading materials distribution (library cart)
- Diagnostic Department filing and film storage
- Cafeteria Cashier
- Housekeeping
- Preparing chart folders for admitted patients
- Business Office filing and data entry
- Blood Drives and Health Fairs.
