KINGWOOD WAL-MART FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANT FUNDING TO
PRESTON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
KINGWOOD-Preston Memorial Hospital (PMH) announces the receipt of a $2,000 grant from the Kingwood Wal-Mart Foundation Community Grant Program. This program offers financial assistance in the form of a direct grant from Wal-Mart stores for use in their communities.
According to PMH Grant Writer Jennifer Funk, “the funds will be used to cover the cost of purchasing new furniture for the hospital’s main lobby, Clinic B, X-ray, Laboratory, and two visitor waiting rooms on the second floor.”
“It is very important for us to provide a patient friendly environment and this grant will allow us to create a more pleasant patient and family experience. We are very grateful to the Kingwood Wal–Mart for their support of our mission“, PMH Chief Executive Officer Michael Thompson said.
PMH is a state-licensed, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital located in Kingwood, West Virginia. Preston Memorial is recognized statewide for its leadership in rural health care—including its Preston Birth Center, 24-hour emergency department, and exceptional support services like respiratory therapy, diagnostic imaging, full service laboratory, home health, and physical therapy services. PMH treats patients from birth on and receives more than 55,000 visits each year.
