Previously, Lockwood served as PMH Controller from 1995 to 1997. In January 1998, Lockwood assumed the role as Chief Finance Officer and has been serving in this capacity ever since.

“The hospital Board is very happy to name Melissa as CEO,” stated Board Chair, Kathy McNeill. “The Board was looking for someone to take on the role as CEO for the long term. Melissa has 13 years experience in the health care field and on two occasions has filled the role of interim CEO. She has proven herself most capable and has the leadership to address the future challenges facing all community hospitals, particularly critical access hospitals. We could not have found anyone more qualified or dedicated to our hospital than Melissa.”

Lockwood said she is ready and eager to move PMH forward. “It is a great honor to be appointed the CEO and the Board’s confidence in me is certainly appreciated. The hospital has a group of dedicated Board members, physicians and staff and, together, we will work to carry out the PMH vision of anticipating and responding to the health care needs of the community. Preston County is very fortunate to have a quality hospital that is such an integral part of the community. I am excited to work with community leaders and other health care organizations to provide the physician and hospital services people in Preston County want to see.”

Lockwood holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from West Virginia University and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1992.

Lockwood resides in Kingwood with her husband, Steve. They have two daughters, Brittany and Katelyn.

Preston Memorial Hospital is a non-profit, 25-bed critical access hospital and is a state licensed, acute care facility. PMH has been providing Preston County and the surrounding areas with state of the art, accessible and cost effective health care for over 50 years.
