At Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, West Virginia, we are committed to improving the health of our community. Our staff of highly trained professionals works closely as a team to provide compassionate, professional healthcare that meets the highest standards of excellence. We know that hospitalization is never an entirely pleasant experience, but we do our best to make you as comfortable as possible.
Preston Memorial Hospital incorporates state-of the-art procedures and equipment to care for our patients. We have an extensive offering of services and technological capabilities normally found in larger facilities; yet our staff cares for you with the genuine concern of friends and neighbors. We work cooperatively with physicians, other health care providers, local businesses and industries, and other community organizations to address community needs and to provide a continuum of care.
General History
Preston Memorial Hospital is a state licensed, 25-bed critical access, acute care facility, located in Kingwood, WV. It is a nonprofit corporation and county owned. PMH opened its doors on July 16, 1955, and was formerly dedicated on September 29, 1955, during the annual Buckwheat Festival. Preston Memorial Hospital was dedicated to the memory of the men and women of Preston County who served in the armed forces and to those who paid the supreme sacrifice.
A Leader in Rural Healthcare
Today, PMH continues to provide excellent rural healthcare services. Our laboratory services are provided seven days week, twenty-four hours a day including microbiology, hematology, chemistry, coagulation, and urinalysis. The laboratory is accredited by AABB, Medicare, and the state of WV. It is staffed with qualified professionals, licensed by the State of WV and Federal Government (CLIA).
Diagnostic Imaging provides state-of the art equipment with services in the following areas: CT, MRI, Bone Denistometry, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and X-ray. All radiology physicians and staff are board certified. Diagnostic Imaging is certified by the state of WV, American College of Radiology, (ACR), is an accredited mammography facility, and a member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Our Diagnostic Imaging Department proudly announces the addition of digital mammography in 2011.
Outpatient services include a variety of specialty services, such as Bariatric, ENT, Neurology, Occupational Medicine, Podiatry, and Pulmonology.
PMH offers a wide range of other services including a 24-hour physician staffed emergency department, critical care, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, fitness centers, and a diagnostic sleep laboratory. |  |
